In long-distance transportations, grinding tools should be packed properly, and be separated with soft materials to avoid collisions between them.

Ceramic grinding tools can not be placed in wet or frozen places, rubber grinding tools can not be contacted with oil, and resin grinding tools can not be contacted with alkalis, otherwise their toughness and grinding capacity will be lowered.

Grinding tools should be kept in dry places, and the environment temperature should not be lower than 5°C.

Different specifications of grinding tools should be placed separately where labels are set to avoid confusions. The placement method should be determined according to the grinding tools’ shapes and sizes. The big-diameter or thick ones should be placed vertically or a little bit obliquely; the small-diameter or thin ones should be placed horizontally and in stacks. The stacks should not be too high, and two flat iron plates should be placed respectively on and beneath one stack to prevent the grinding tools from being deformed or broken.

The storage period of grinding tools made of organic materials normally should not be over one year. The expired grinding tools should be tested to check their toughness. The grinding tools having been maintained should also be re-tested before being used.
