Choose Different Diamond Cup Wheels for Different Grinding Uses
Nowadays, diamond cup wheels are widely used to grind granite, marble, brick blocks, concrete, etc.
Some cup wheels’ segments are arranged in one or two rings, such as our single row diamond cup wheel and double row diamond cup wheel. They can be used for beveling, smoothing and shaping. Some cup wheels’ segments are arranged into swirl patterns to cover a larger surface area and then gain a faster grinding, such as our segmented turbo cup wheel. There are also cup wheels of other segment arrangement patterns and segment shapes, for example, our floor grinding disc head, dotted star cup wheel, bow segment cup wheel, etc. They are for their respective grinding uses.
The segment number will greatly influence a diamond cup wheel’s working efficiency and its price. More segments can cover more surface area but lead to a higher price for the cup wheel. You can choose fewer segments for a more economical approach or for larger jobs, and can adopt more segments to increase your working efficiency and then reduce your labor expenses. This lies on your tradeoff.
The segments’ diamond grit is another consideration. Coarse, medium and fine grits should be used for a progressive scratch removal prior to the final polishing with diamond polishing pads.
